Erasmus+ is the European Union's programme dedicated to education, training, youth, and sports. It serves as the EU's leading initiative for education and training, with a strong focus on student and staff mobility and fostering European collaboration among higher education institutions and other key stakeholders in the knowledge-driven economy.
The programme promotes the development of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) by enhancing mobility opportunities, supporting innovation, economic growth, and employment within the EU. On 25 March 2021, the European Commission launched the 2021-2027 phase of Erasmus+, building upon the successes of previous years.
The Erasmus Charter for Higher Education outlines the general principles that higher education institutions (HEIs) must follow to engage in European cooperation under the Erasmus+ programme.
