Luther Academy Celebrates the Beginning of Its 30th Academic Year

September 1 marks the beginning of a new academic year at Luther Academy, as it does year after year. This year, however, the date carried special significance. For the thirtieth time since the Academy’s founding, the Luther Academy community gathered together to give thanks for the years that have passed and to look ahead with hope and commitment to a new academic year. In the 2026/2027 academic year, 106 students will pursue their studies through both on-campus and distance learning, guided and supported by a team of 27 lecturers.

International Conference “Theology of Vocation in a Technocentric Age"

On March 26–27, 2026, the Luther Academy, together with the International Leadership University in Kenya and the Lutheran School of Theology in Gothenburg, is organizing an international online conference titled “Theology of Vocation in a Technocentric Age: Rethinking Work, Family, and Community.”

Events Honoring Paul Einhorn

During the European Heritage Days, the Turaida Museum Reserve participates with readings of Paul Einhorn’s works and a valuable exhibition of old prints. The museum reserve organizes Einhorn’s readings together with the Professor Roberts Feldmanis Foundation, as well as the Luther Academy, which is currently preparing a Latvian translation of Paul Einhorn’s work Historica Lettica (Tartu, 1649) for publication.

International and Ecumenical Conference: "1700 years since the First Council of Nicaea: Faith and Reason – Creed for Modern World

In 2025, we mark 1700 years since the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea, where the Nicene Creed – Credo – was formulated and adopted. It was later expanded by the First Council of Constantinople.

Learning to accompany

From January 29 to February 2 the ELCL Retreat Center in Mazirbe hosted the training course "Calling”, where Luther Academy students had the opportunity to learn the basics of spiritual accompaniment.

Luther Academy has obtained accreditation for its study field for 6 years

The accreditation process of Luther Academy, which lasted for more than a year, has been completed. By the decision of the Study Quality Commission of February 7, 2024, the study field "Religion and Theology" implemented at Luther Academy has been accredited for 6 years.
